Egg and Olive Oil

The egg is the richest source of proteins and amino acids that nourish hair whereas olive oil locks the moisture in the scalp. For the purpose separate egg yolk from the white and mix it with two tablespoon olive oil. You can also add a few drops of lemon for shine and smoothness. Leave for 30 to 40 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water and your regular shampoo. The olive oil can be replaced with almond oil, coconut oil, castor oil, rosemary oil and mustard oil.

Beer is not a new drink for people around the world and is loved by lots of people as a regular drink in their menu. But do you know, beer can be a good hair wash for those coping with frizzy hair. After washing your hair with shampoo and water, rinse it with beer and or just spray beer on your hair. The smell of the beer will go after a few minutes leaving super soft and shiny hair.

I Want Some Wild Hair

Body Art for your hair. There's a rainbow of hair colors out there, what color do you want? Whether it's pink, purple, blue, red, green, or orange, I'll walk you through dyeing your hair that odd color you've always dreamed about.

It's not your traditional tattoos or piercings, but unusually colored hair is a form of body art. I myself have had hair just about every color of the rainbow, reds to blues, greens, purples, everything except black (I just don't have the skin tone to carry off black hair.)

Over the years I've learned the tricks to make unusual colors last. The tricks to keep your hair in decent shape during the dyeing process.

The first thing to decide; what color you want. Even with unusual colors you need to make sure they go with your skin tone. Let's go with pink for now. There are many shades of pink, fluorescent to a calm pastel pink. Look at your skin tone, what pinks look best against your skin.

One thing I recommend is going to a fabric store, and buying swatches of various shades of pink. Place each one against your face and look at it. Does it make your skin glow, or make you look washed out? Try as many different shades as you need to find your color.

When you find the color that looks best, then you can begin the hunt for the dye you want. There are many different brands of unusual colors, Manic Panic, Special FX, Fudge, etc. I personally use Manic Panic, although it does tend to fade fast, it produces intense color and has a shade of red, that I absolutely adore.

There are many on-line sources for buying hair dyes, but if you have a beauty supply store near you, go there. That way you can actually see what the dye looks like and get their recommendations for dyeing your hair.

What you will need to dye your hair properly:
  • Hair dye (obviously)
  • Hair bleach (depending on your original hair color)
  • Old towels
  • Old t-shirt
  • Rolled cotton or tissue
  • Vaseline
  • Plastic wrap or bag
  • Nonmetal hair clips
  • Comb
  • Patience
So gather your basics and visit this link to learn how to dye your hair that beautiful new, not so natural shade.

Natural Hair Care

Hair Care and Remedies

Hair is always a person's beauty. Every person desires to have a long shiny, silky smooth hair. This article will list some of the natural and organic remedies for protecting your hair.

Cleaning Hair

The first and the foremost task to get those great long shiny hair, is to clean your hair. When it comes to cleaning the hair, everyone thinks that he/she knows very well how to do that. I am not doubting your abilities, after all you have been taking care of hair, for so long, but just want to provide a basic guide line.

Before going for a hair wash, it's always better to comb your hair, so that it will remove all the tangles and your hair wont become more worsen while washing. Always prefer to wash the hair with warm water, as it easily removes the dirt and oil easily without applying, soap or a shampoo and moreover provides a kind of gentle relief to your scalp. Make your hair wet completely with warm water and try to gently put a message on to your scalp. It can be done for 2 mins or so.

Apply conditioner (obviously an organic one will be the best), properly on to your hair and leave it for 3 - 5 mins on your hair. Wash it out, and then shampoo your hair. Remember to shampoo your hair but applying it to the scalp, unlike the conditioner which is on the hair. Leave the shampoo for 5 mins approx. and then take shower. Put your fingers inside to the head and slowly and gently message and cleanse the hair. Do note that, don't leave shampoo on to the end of hair, as it may lead to weaking of hair rather than making them glow.

Once done, apply shampoo for the second time and leave it for some time. The purpose of applying shampoo for the first time, is to clean the dirt and oil from hair, and the second time, the shampoo is applied to treat the hair. Rinse off the shampoo gently. Always do remember to rinse the hair gently and carefully, so that they should not get messed up on your head. Wet or Soaked Hair are prone to break, so utmost care is required to rinse hair.

Don't use dryer for making your hair dry and don't rub your hair hard, with a towel or some cloth. Hair are too delicate, how much ever strong or thick they look form outside. Don't go and sit under sunlight also to make your hair becoming dry again. Rub your hair gently with towel and comb them properly again.

Dandruff is due to the excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp, which leads to loss of hair, eye problems and skin disease. It is not a living organism like lice, it is a dead cell and is quite normal for skin cells to die and flake off.

First of all cleaning of hair on a regular basis is required if you have a tendency to develop dandruff at a rapid rate.

  • 1 Spoon Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 Cup Vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup of Water

Take non metallic bowl, mix the lemon juice with half - cups of water and vinegar. Wash your hair as described, and then apply the mixture properly on to the scalp. Leave it for 15 - 20 mins. and wash gently with luke warm water. Apply thrice a week, for more dandruff.

How to make your hair soft and silky?

Every one wants their hair to be as soft as silk, and feels jealous when they happen to see other persons hair more soft and silky then there's. But when it comes to taking care of their hair, they neglect and deny to take care of them. Cleaning your hair is an essential part of Hair Care Process, and has to be done on a regular basis. It depends on person to person as to how many times he/she has to wash hair. Typically for long hair and people who travel and go outside for job it's thrice a week, if they cannot then at least twice the week it's recommended. For short hair it's always easy and fast to wash them, so can be done daily. But here is a solution.

  • 2 Table Spoons Honey

How to Get Rid of Poofy Hair

Smooth, Sleek, and Shiny

Hairstyles can drastically change your look and your style. If poofy hair is a problem, try these simple steps to reduce the poof.

Poofy hair is a result of naturally thick, wavy, sometimes unmanageable hair. If your hair is long and still poofy, you have some serious volume to contend with. The more your hair weighs, the less poofy it is, so growing your hair longer will often help get rid of the poofiness. If the weather sometimes wreaks havoc with your locks, there are products to reduce the frizz and help you have a smooth, silky style. Chances are, you’ve already tried a few products off the shelf, but did you know there are home remedies specifically for reducing the volume in your hair? They were good enough for your grandmother and they could work for you too. If products and home remedies still leave you with too much pizzazz, you may need a cut and style designed to minimize poofy hair. Try a variety of solutions or a combination of them until you find the remedy that gets rid of your poofy hair.

Change Your Habits:

Damaged, dry hair may look poofier than hair that is well cared for. If it’s been a while since you changed your shampoo, your hair is likely immune to the shampoo’s effectiveness. Also make sure you are using the right shampoo for your hair type. Dry hair needs a shampoo with moisture and certain oils, so read the labels. Try hair packs and balms at least three times a month, or once a week if your hair has serious damage. These products provide nourishment and can make a difference in the overall appearance of your hair. Get regular trims to avoid split ends and the resulting frizz which make your hair look poofy.

If you feel like you’re the only woman in the world with poufed out hair, rest assured that you are not. A certain amount of volume in your hair is nice, but if you look like you just stepped out of a 1960’s B movie, complete with the beehive, then you may need to use some product. Check the hair care aisle in your local drug store or ask your stylist what he or she recommends. Volume reducing products start at about $4.00 in the drug store, but you can pay more in a salon. Once you begin searching, you may see that there is a tremendous amount of product designed to increase the volume in your hair, so make sure you read the label carefully before you put anything on your hair. Leave in conditioners may help as they do tend to weigh your hair down. Some anti frizz products will also help reduce volume, even though they do not claim this on the label. Frizzy hair will appear to be poofy, even if it is not. Reducing the frizz may be just the answer you need. Your hair may have other considerations, like dryness, that may increase the amount of poof. The appropriate conditioning treatment for dry hair may be all you need to get rid of the poof. If you’re stumped, ask your hair stylist what products you need.

Home Remedies:

You can find many different recipes for damaged hair care that you make from home with ingredients you likely have in your fridge or your pantry. Home remedies for hair use ingredients like avocado, olive oil and mayonnaise as they absorb the moisture and keep it locked. This allows the hair shaft to hold on to the moisture it needs. Mixing a few ingredients will save you money and may help reduce your poofy hair. For a dry hair shampoo, try mixing about two ounces of liquid castile soap with one ounce of water and one ounce of olive oil. Add five to ten drops of essential oil if you prefer scented shampoo. Lavender, rosemary or lemon essential oil works beautifully. Mix all of the ingredients together and wash your hair. Rinse it thoroughly and apply conditioner. One home made recipe for a deep conditioner combines four to five drops of essential oil, your choice, with one egg and one teaspoon of olive oil. Beat the egg, mix in the remaining ingredients and leave it on your hair for about 20 minutes. Wash it out with a gently shampoo. This conditioner helps moisturize and soften your hair. You can store it in the fridge for up to two weeks. Shake well before each application.

Cut and Style:

Though it’s true that the more weight your hair has, the less poofy it will look; sometimes growing your hair long is just not enough of a solution. Hair that is determined to be poofy no matter how much is weighs my need a good cut. Your hair’s volume may be primarily related to the length, so cutting it shorter may be just the answer you’ve been looking for. Styling is another effective way to get rid of poofy hair. Try not to use a blow dryer as this tends to add volume to your hair. There is a way to blow dry your hair to reduce volume, but you must use the correct anti frizz product. Begin when the hair is wet, apply the anti frizz product to the hair shafts, not the roots. Section your hair off with hair clips, leaving the bottom section to dry first. Take a round brush and place it under a small section of hair. Place the blow dryer on the hair shaft and follow the round brush down your hair with the dryer. Keep doing this until the section of hair is dry, blowing the heat down with the blower almost touching your hair. This is similar to straightening your hair, but the product is different. Other styling tools are available such as the ceramic hair styling irons and ceramic straightening tools.

You may need to experiment with a combination of products and tools before you find the right solution to get rid of your poofy hair.
